Newsflash from the Broome point of care ultrasound workshop 20/06/14

Attendees came from the Broome Regional Hospital, Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service, Derby and One Arm Point.

 Lessons learnt

#1       We need to be as self-sufficient as possible, two local machines that were thought to be provided were unavailable.  Wi-Fi access non-existent in WACHS hospitals, use personal hotspot. There is a  significant no show rate  from pregnant ladies who had volunteered to be subjects.

#2   midwives and doctors are very fast learners when it comes to  point of care ultrasound.

#3   a good time was had by all and the feedback was very good.

 #4    we need a follow-up in 4 to 6 months.
